What File Types Can I Upload to Inkfree?

Jul 31, 20262 min read

Inkfree accepts the file types people use every day. Whether you're sending a contract, proposal, form, spreadsheet, or image, you can upload it directly and prepare it for signing.

Supported Formats

Inkfree supports uploads in the following formats (up to 10 MB per file):

  • PDF (.pdf)
  • Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)
  • Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx)
  • Text files (.txt)
  • JPEG (.jpeg, .jpg)
  • PNG (.png)
  • GIF (.gif)
  • BMP (.bmp)
  • TIFF (.tiff)
  • HEIC (.heic)

What Happens After Upload?

• PDF files — uploaded as-is and retain their formatting throughout the signing process.

• Office documents — Word, Excel, and text files are converted automatically so they can be prepared and signed online.

• Image files — photos and scanned documents can be uploaded directly, making it easy to collect signatures on forms, letters, and other printed documents.

Upload Rules to Know

1.  Each file must be 10 MB or smaller. If your file exceeds the limit, reduce its size or split it into multiple files before uploading.

2.  Password-protected files can't be processed. Remove the password or encryption before uploading.

3.  Corrupted or unsupported files are rejected during upload. If this happens, open the original file, save or export it again, and retry.

Tip: You can add multiple files to a single sign request — signers receive them as one package and complete everything in one sitting.
