Setting Up Delegation When You're Away (Settings → Delegation)
Vacations shouldn't create signature bottlenecks. Delegation forwards your signing duties to a trusted colleague for a set period, so documents keep moving while you're offline — and everything is properly recorded.
How to Enable Delegation
1. Open Settings → Delegation (under the Personal section).
2. Turn delegation on.
3. Choose your delegate — the colleague who will sign on your behalf.
4. Set the start and end dates of your absence.
5. Save.
How It Works While You're Away
• Sign requests addressed to you are routed to your delegate automatically.
• Your delegate signs with their own identity, and the audit trail explicitly records that they acted as your delegate — the chain of responsibility stays intact and defensible.
• When the end date passes, routing returns to you automatically. No cleanup needed.
Good Delegation Hygiene
• Choose a delegate with the authority to actually sign what you'd sign.
• Tell your frequent senders who's covering, so nobody is surprised.
• For a single document (rather than a period), use the Delegate button in the signing view instead.
Note: Delegation is available on the Standard plan and above.
