How to Set Up Automatic Reminders for Unsigned Documents

Aug 3, 20261 min read

The polite chase is the whole game in document turnaround — and it's completely automatable. Set a cadence once, and Inkfree nudges every pending signer until they act.

Steps

1.  When creating a request, open the reminder settings before sending.

2.  Choose a cadence — every 3 days is the sweet spot for most documents: often enough to matter, rare enough not to annoy.

3.  Send. The request detail page confirms it ("Auto reminders: Every 3 days").

How They Behave

•  Reminders go only to signers who haven't acted — completed signers are never nagged.

•  They stop automatically when the signer signs, declines, or the request expires or completes.

•  Every reminder is logged in the audit trail — provable follow-up.

The Winning Combination

Automatic reminders + an expiration date. The reminders create urgency along the way; the deadline gives the urgency teeth. Requests configured this way complete dramatically more often than open-ended, unchased ones.

Note: Automatic reminders are available on the Basic plan and above.
