How to Use the Inkfree Template Library
The Inkfree Template Library is a gallery of ready-made eSignature templates, such as NDAs, leases and offer letters, with the signing fields already in place. Import one into your account with a click, adjust it, and send it like any template you built yourself.
Where Is the Template Library?
Open Templates in the sidebar. The page has two tabs: My templates, the templates you have built or imported, and Template library, the ready-made gallery.
Finding a Template
- Search by name or description, for example "NDA", "Lease" or "Offer letter".
- Filter by category with the chips along the top. Each chip shows how many templates it holds.
- Sort by Newest, Most popular or Name (A–Z). Templates many people use carry a Popular tag.
Each card shows how many documents and pages the template has and when it was last updated. More templates load as you scroll.
Previewing a Template
Click a template to open its preview. You see every page with the signing fields drawn where they sit, so you know exactly what you are importing.
Some library entries are kits: several documents that usually go out together, such as an onboarding pack. In a kit you can untick documents you do not need, as long as at least one stays selected.
Importing a Template
On the preview page, choose one of two buttons:
- Import to My templates (or Import kit to My templates) saves an editable copy in the top level of My templates and confirms "Imported to My templates". Click Go to My templates to open it.
- Use template imports the copy the same way, then takes you straight into sending it.
The imported copy is yours to change. Its signers arrive as roles without names or emails, so you fill in the real people at send time, and you can edit the clauses and fields before sending. The default email subject and message, reminders and expiration come across too. In My templates, imported templates are marked Imported from Template library. If you already have a template with the same name, the copy gets a number, such as "NDA (2)". Move it into a folder whenever you like; see how to organize templates into folders.
Does an Imported Template Count Toward My Plan?
Yes. Each import uses one template from your plan, the same as a template you build yourself. When every template slot is used, the import buttons are disabled with the message "You've used all template slots in your plan. Upgrade to add more." Compare plan limits in understanding Inkfree's pricing plans, or see what to do when a feature needs an upgrade.
You also need permission to create templates in your account, and Use template needs permission to send. If the buttons are unavailable to you, ask an account admin.

Tip: Library templates are a starting point, not legal advice. Read the imported document and have your legal or HR team review its wording before you send it.
