What to Do If You Signed a Document by Mistake

First, the reassuring part: nothing is final until you click Finish. Closed the tab halfway through? Nothing was saved. But if you did finish, act quickly. 

If You Haven't Clicked Finish 

Just close the tab. Fields you filled aren't submitted; your signature isn't applied. Reopen the link whenever you're ready. 

If You Finished by Mistake 

1.  Contact the sender immediately — reply to the signing email and explain. 

2.  If the request isn't yet fully completed (others still pending), the sender can void it — the document never becomes a binding, distributed agreement. 

3.  If it already completed, unwinding is a legal step between the parties — typically a short mutual rescission — after which the sender issues a corrected request. Inkfree preserves the honest record of both.
