How to Sign Your First Document
Received a document to sign through Inkfree? You don't need an account, an app, or any preparation, just the email in front of you. Here's exactly what to expect from click to confirmation.
Step 1: Open the Signing Link
1. Open the email from Inkfree; it names the sender and the document.
2. Click the signing button in the email.
3. A landing page shows you the request details: who sent it, what's inside, and their message to you. Click through to open the document.
Step 2: Verify Your Identity (If Asked)
If the sender enabled identity verification, you'll be asked for one of the following before the document opens:
• Email OTP: a one-time code sent to your email. Enter it on the verification screen.
• Access code: a password the sender shared with you separately (by phone or chat). Type it in to continue.
Step 3: Complete Your Fields
1. The document opens with your fields highlighted. The counter in the top bar shows how many required fields remain, for example, "1 required field left".
2. Work through each field: type text, tick checkboxes, pick dates.
3. If the request contains several documents, the panel on the right lists them all and tracks your progress through each.
Step 4: Sign and Finish
1. Click Start signing.
2. Apply your signature: draw it with your mouse or finger, type it in a script style, or upload an image.
3. Click Finish.
That's it. You'll see a confirmation, and once every party has signed, the completed document and certificate of completion arrive in your inbox automatically.
Note: Not ready to sign? You can also Decline (with a reason) or Delegate the document to the right person; both options sit in the top bar.
