Inkfree is an intuitive eSignature platform designed to help businesses of all sizes send, sign, and manage legally binding documents - from any device.

What is Inkfree?

Inkfree is an intuitive eSignature platform designed to help businesses of all sizes send, sign, and manage legally binding documents — from any device, with no printing and no software to install. The core idea behind Inkfree is speed and simplicity: upload a document, add your signers, and watch signatures roll in — in minutes, not days. Every signed document is protected with 256-bit AES encryption and backed by a tamper-proof audit trail, so your agreements are as secure as they are fast.

Whether you're an individual sending your first contract or a team managing hundreds of agreements a month, this guide walks you through everything you need to get up and running.

How to Sign Up for Inkfree

Signing up for Inkfree's Lifetime Free plan takes less than a minute. Just follow these steps:

1.  Visit the Inkfree website and click on the Start free button.

2.  Fill in the following details:

•  First Name

•  Last Name

•  Company Name

•  Contact Number

•  Business Email

•  Strong Password

3.  Click Create Account

You can also skip the form entirely and click Sign up with Google to register with your Google account.

Note: By creating an account, you agree to Inkfree's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The Lifetime Free plan includes 1 user and 3 sign requests — no credit card required.

How to Activate Your Account

Once you've registered, Inkfree sends a verification email to the address you signed up with. Follow these steps to activate your account:

1.  Open your inbox and look for the email from Inkfree asking you to verify your email address.

•  If you're using Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, or Apple Mail, use the quick-access buttons on the verification screen to jump directly to your inbox.

•  Can't find it? Check your spam folder — the verification screen includes a shortcut for that too.

2.  Click the Activate Account button in the email.

You'll be redirected to Inkfree, where you'll see a confirmation that your account has been successfully activated. You'll then be redirected back to the login screen. After logging in, you'll be taken directly to your dashboard, where you can send your first signature request.

Tip: The verification link expires after a short time. If yours has expired, click Resend email on the verification screen to get a fresh one.

Understanding Your Dashboard

After logging in, you land on the Inkfree dashboard — your home base for everything:

 •  Create Request — the orange button in the sidebar starts a new sign request. The small arrow beside it reveals more sending options.

•  Sidebar navigation — Dashboard, Templates, Web Forms, Contacts, Sign Request, and Reports.

•  Inbox — view incoming sign requests, track their status, and take action on documents that require your attention.

•  Usage & Plan meter — the ring in the top bar shows how many documents you've used out of your plan's allowance (for example, "3 / 25 docs").

•  Notifications & help — the bell keeps you posted on signature activity, and the question-mark icon opens this Help Center.

How to Set Up Your Signature

Before you sign or send anything, save your signature so signing takes one click:

1.  Click your avatar in the top bar and select My Profile. Then scroll down to the Signatures & Initials section.

2.  Add your signature — draw it with your mouse or finger, type it in a script style, or upload an image of your real signature.

3.  Add your initials the same way. Some documents ask for initials on every page, so it's worth setting both.

4.  Click Save

From now on, whenever a document asks for your signature, Inkfree applies your saved mark instantly.

How to Send Your First Document for Signature

A sign request is a package of one or more documents plus the people who need to sign them. Here's how to create your first one:

1.  Click Create Request in the sidebar.

2.  On the Select documents to be signed screen, drag and drop your PDF or Word file — or click to browse.

 3.  Click Next to move to the Approvers and Signers step.

4.  Enter each signer's name and email address. Leave the role dropdown as Need to Sign

 5.  Want to control the sequence? Tick Set Signer's order and arrange your signers into levels — level 1 signs first, then level 2, and so on.

6.  Optionally, open the security dropdown next to a signer to require Email OTP or an Access Code before they can view the document.

7.  Continue to the editor, drag signature and form fields onto the document, write your email message, and click Send

Each signer receives a secure email link and can sign from any device — they don't need an Inkfree account. You'll be notified at every step, and once everyone signs, the final documents and a certificate of completion are emailed to all parties automatically.

What's Next?

Now that you're set up, here's where to go from here:

•  Create a template for documents you send repeatedly — set up fields once, send in seconds.

•  Import your contacts so adding signers autocompletes instead of retyping.

•  Enable two-factor authentication in Settings → Security to lock down your account.

•  Invite your team (Standard plan and above) from Settings → Teams.
