Why Did My Document Fail to Send?

Last Updated: Jul 31, 20262 min read

A failed send is almost always one of four causes; check them in this order and you'll be re-sending within minutes.

1. Invalid Recipient Email

The most common cause. The form flags malformed addresses (missing @, typos in the domain). Fix the address and retry. Watch for invisible trailing spaces from copy-paste.

2. Usage Limit Reached

Glance at the Usage & Plan meter in the top bar. If it reads full ("10 / 10 docs"), sending pauses until you upgrade or your cycle resets. The fix is one click into Settings → My Plan.

3. File Problems

Password-protected or corrupted files can't be processed. Remove the PDF password, or re-export the file from its source application, and upload again.

4. Incomplete Setup

Every signer needs a name and valid email; ordered flows need every signer assigned a level; every signer should have at least one field. The review step highlights what's missing.

Still failing after all four? Contact support with the request ID and the exact error text, and we can trace it server-side.
