How to Add a Personal Message for Recipients

Jul 31, 20262 min read

The message is the first thing your recipient reads — before the document, before the fields. Thirty seconds of writing here measurably improves how fast people sign.

Steps

1.  On the email step before sending, write your message in the message box.

2.  It appears in two places: the invitation email and the signing landing page the recipient sees first.

3.  After sending, you can review it anytime on the request detail page under Message to signers

What a Good Message Contains

1.  What the document is — "your employment agreement for the Senior Designer role".

2.  What you need — "please review and sign by Friday".

3.  Who to ask — "questions? Reply to me or reach HR at…".

Example: "Hi Chris — attached is your employment agreement reflecting the terms we discussed. Please sign by Friday so payroll can set you up before your start date. Any questions, just reply."

Tip: Sending from a template? Save the message in the template so every sender strikes the same tone.
